A Collection of guides tips & tricks to get Ubuntu to rock on L501x (Dell XPS-15)
Hey There! Thanks for taking time to go through this post
What’s this blog about?
Its all about getting Ubuntu to work perfectly on Dell’s New Laptop – XPS15 (L501X). Since most of the hardware in XPS 14,15,17 are the same; most of the guides apply to all of them.
Who has written these guides?
This blog is just a collection of guides. Since I personally own a XPS-15 and run Ubuntu on it; I keep looking for better guides to make all of the hardware to work in sync. I have found a lot of helpful content on ubuntuforums.org and I am trying to compile them together in the best possible way!
What Hardware are you testing these on?
I have a Dell XPS L501X
- Intel Core i5-460M Processor (2.53GHz, 2Core/4Threads, turbo up to 2.8GHz, 3M cache)
- 1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 420M GPU
- 6GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM
- 640GB 7200RPM Hard Drive
- 9 Cell Primary Battery
- Intel WiFi Link 6200 (802.11a/g/n) Mini-card
- Running Ubuntu 10.10 x64 with Windows 7 x64 dual boot
So I hope these guides/tips help other fellow XPS users to rock Ubuntu on! Enjoy
